At night, the LED luminaires in the Tianjin Polytechnic University instantly light up the global largest semiconductor lighting demonstration project. All of these LED luminaires are developed by the college itself, whose LED technology has received more than 60 patents. The Tianjin Polytechnic University is taking the leading position and becomes the global four LED college.
The university applies the new research results to the new campus, more than 8,000 kinds of LED sources scattering in the corridor and classroom as well as 1,500 LED street lights on the road, lake, lawn, stadium and parking lot.
The LED luminaires developed by Tianjin Polytechnic University has the wisdom control and automatic induction, which can sense the passerby through their infrared induction and thermal. The LED lights can make the brightness adjudgments accordingly, reducing to the half of the brightness after mid night. The LED lights are out when some students forget turning off the lights in the classroom. What's more important, the new research makes the LED wireless transmission come true. The LED street lights become a router, which transmit the net signals through the lights; the mobile device like phone could experience the " Fast Internet" near the LED street lights.
Currently, the university is studying more advanced LED lights, which adopts the solar energy, wind and light power, and the LED lights could be continuously lighted within 5 rainy days. Now, there are only four LED colleges in the world( utilizing LED lights in the campus lighting), besides the Tianjin Polytechnic University, the other three colleges are located in the United States including North Carolina State University, University of California, Santa Barbara, and University of Arkansas.
